SPRING (VERNAL) EQUINOX 2011

Data:  March 20, 2011 @ 7:22 p.m. EDT - Washington, D.C.

The Vernal Equinox is the exact moment of the ingress of the Sun into Aries...the commencement of the astrological year.  A map of the Heavens is drawn for the moment of ingress at the seat of government of a nation.  The figure for the Vernal Equinox always bears chief rule for the ensuing year and while the succeeding ingresses into the other cardinal points have also a pre-signification, they are subsidiary to the first-named.

The following interpretation is for the chart cast for Washington, D.C., depicting situations to be faced by the population of the USA.

The formation of note is an angular Cardinal T-Square:  Saturn in Libra, 1st house opposing Jupiter in Aries, 7th house both square Pluto in Capricorn, 4th house.  Serious weather ahead for the astrological year.

In his influence upon temperature Pluto is cool...and a decidedly violent planet.  His prominence (4th house, Apex of T-Square, square the Midheaven and square the Ascendant) tends to bring extreme conditions.  In his influence on the air he tends to produce wind of a violent and destructive nature.  In his influence upon rain he is a moist planet and when heavily afflicted as he is in this chart he tends to produce storms of death and destruction, such as seen in tornadoes and hurricanes.

Capricorn is the sign of storms, extreme cold, and of destructive floods and droughts.  Its influence is usually toward low temperatures and in winter to temperatures so low as to be destructive of life.  But in a period of excessive summer heat, instead of moderating it, it will make the heat even more disagreeable.

It is the sign which more than any other, brings blizzards and increases the wind force when dominant.  It is a wet sign but tends toward floods and destructive snowstorms and hailstorms.  Unseasonable weather of all kinds come under its rule...dark, damp, cold days, and cold drenching rains when rains are not needed.

In addition to critical weather developments, the Uranus/Pluto signature - especially with Pluto in the 4th house - is one that speaks to land upheavals and earthquakes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aside from earth changes, SUN CONJOINED URANUS SQUARE PLUTO gives a strong drive to seek release from everyday patterns, a time when nothing goes as planned.  This is an aspect of rebellion that is destined to lead to disputes with those in authority.  A balance will be required between attempts to liberate from restrictions in a productive manner and attempts to do so by rash and impulsive actions.  Structures that are no longer viable need to be swept away as the principle of sudden change (Uranus) meets with the principle of regeneration (Pluto).

It is not that there is a choice...deep psychological forces have been operating slowly over a period of time and have built up to a critical point and now - over the course of the astrological year - demand action, which is the purpose of a square.  Drastic change is upon us rather than the slow boil we have been experiencing, as the energies are pushed to extremes.

SUN CONJOINED URANUS IN THE 6TH HOUSE puts emphasis on the nation's food supply, service workers, police and firefighters, civil service and public servants, armed forces, public health, and the working class in general.

The 6th house is one of crisis, which is to say the population will be required by events to devote more time, attention and energy to these matters than is usual.  Coupled with the square from Pluto it is clear that Americans will be faced with upheaval in the sectors mentioned...worsening employment due to cutbacks and lack of jobs...food shortages, some of which will be due to exports to foreign countries without due regard to the welfare of U.S. citizens...a revamping within the armed forces...possible military backlash...and a deteriorating health situation for the public at large.

Also occupying the 6th house is Mars in Pisces inconjunct a 1st house Moon in Libra, representative of the people.  As the Moon rules mentality the pressure being brought to bear by Mars from the area of public health may create situations of mental instability, supported by the oppositions of Moon to Jupiter/Mercury in Aries, ruling the cerebrum, which houses the upper brain, organ of thought.  No matter in what sign the Moon is found, it rules the constitutional magnetism,  influences the medulla oblongata and base of the brain where magnetic energy is stored, rules the fluidic and lymphatic system of the body, and has considerable influence over the eyes.  Therefore, to maintain a healthy balance (as the sign Libra implies the alkalinity of the blood must be kept at a certain level to ensure health by eliminating acid in our bodies in excess of bodily requirements) a suitable diet is essential.  A list of alkaline/acid foods is provided at this site:

As pressure is brought to bear upon each one of us it is crucial to keep stress under control.  Stress causes the adrenal glands - two small bodies each of which sits astride one of the kidneys - to become depleted.  The hormones of the adrenal glands are
adrenalin and cortin.  Adrenalin has a marked influence in maintaining muscular tone.  It is the great fatigue antidote, neutralizing the toxins in the blood which give the feeling of fatigue, so the person becomes easily tired and discouraged and life no longer seems attractive.  Cortin controls the sodium, potassium and chloride content of the blood, and thus regulates the quantity of water in the tissues.  It is the amount of cortin in the blood which chiefly determines whether the reaction is to fight or to flee from an enemy.  Depleted cortin, in relation to the amount of adrenalin, gives the typical fear reaction; but when the cortin is abundant in proportion to adrenalin, no fear is felt, and instead there is a strong desire present to attack and destroy the opposition.

A person who becomes angry over the merest trifles, a person who worries (fear that some situation will not be adequately met) calls upon precious reserve energies of the body when they are not needed, and as a consequence, when they are needed in real time of stress there are none to fall back upon.  It will serve you well to understand that the effect of worry, anger, anxiety, or an environment of excitement, or any type stress places a strain upon the adrenals to the end they can no longer secrete their hormones, the lack of which sets up a situation wherein the soldier (Mars) at the gate protecting your immune system is unable to function, hence, illness ensues.

What to do?  First, obtain the homeopathic remedy known as Adrenal Support, in liquid form.  When stress is unavoidable or creeps up on you, a few drops under your tongue will afford an opportunity for you to become mentally aware.

Next, take control of your life by taking control of your thoughts.
The mental attitude to counteract fear, worry, and anxiety is to encourage calm, steady, radiant courage and vital power; apply thoughts of calm reliance upon a higher power; engage in joyous activity and the lighter side of life with social activity.

The mental attitude to counteract anger and irritation needs to find expression in protecting and ministering to the needs of the weak and helpless, whether it be a plant, an animal or a person.  In addition, energies that would express as anger/irritation can be diverted by building something with the object of using it to help another...maybe a cold frame in which to start vegetables growing that can be shared with someone in need.

We are what we think.  Know thyself.

Ah Love! could you and I with Him conspire
To grasp this sorry Scheme of Things entire,
Would not we shatter it to bits---and then
Re-mould it nearer to the Heart's desire!
